If you are thinking of quitting smoking this New Year there is a wealth of free support available from Smokefree South Gloucestershire.
Smokefree South Gloucestershire offer the NHS Stop Smoking Service, now funded by South Gloucestershire Council, which has already helped thousands of people to quit smoking for good.
An estimated seven million people will make a New Year’s resolution to improve an aspect of their health and stopping smoking is one of the most common pledges.
Free help and support is available to help you succeed with your New Year’s resolution including medications such as nicotine patches and tablets.
You are four times more likely to quit with support so book on to one of our free Smokefree sessions which run in Filton, Kingswood, Patchway, Staple Hill and Yate.
Dr Mark Pietroni, Director of Public Health at South Gloucestershire Council, said: “We know that no two smokers are the same and individuals have their own reasons for wanting to stop. That’s why we tailor our service to fit individual needs and lifestyles. And to make life easier we provide free one-to-one and group support in lots of convenient locations.
“Studies show that you’re up to four times more likely to quit successfully if you use a combination of stop smoking medicine and specialist support from your local Smokefree service. Thousands of people have already quit for good with our help and if you want to make a healthier start to 2015 then get in touch with us.”
