The new Principal for The Grange School and Sports College in Warmley is looking forward to working with governors, staff and students following her appointment this month.

Martina Veale joined the school in July and will help to drive forward improvements during the coming academic year.

Mrs Veale was formerly at Bristol Brunel Academy part of the Cabot Learning Federation.

She said: “I’m delighted to have been offered this position and have been impressed with the enthusiasm and dedication I’ve already seen at the school.

“Over the coming year my priority will be to continue the school’s journey of steady improvement, in partnership with staff, students and governors. It is about securing the best possible outcomes for all students at The Grange.

“I’ll also be working closely with the governors and local authority as they develop their future plans for the school.”

Earlier this year a bid to create a specialist ‘Studio School’ on the Grange site, with an emphasis on employability and enterprise skills, was submitted to the Department for Education.

The outcome of the bid is expected in late July or early August.
