The council’s Positive Activities Subsidy (PAS) was set up to help young people aged 13-19 years take part in activities that benefit their health, learning or social or personal development.

Projects that can be funded through the PAS range from sports, clubs and societies to occasional social trips or activities.

Applications for small grants of up to £3,000 are particularly encouraged during the current bidding round, which ends on 10 May.

Applications will be considered by the district’s five Area Committees in July and priority will be given to organisations that have directly involved young people in selecting activities for funding.

Eligible organisations include registered charities and organisations set up for charitable purposes.

Further information is available from the Quartet Community Foundation at www.quartetcf.org.uk/SGCPositiveActivities or by telephoning 0117 989 7700. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Foundation to discuss their projects prior to application.

Applications must be received by 10 May to be considered at July’s Area Committee meetings.
