Free Christmas events at South Gloucestershire libraries

Once again libraries across South Gloucestershire are getting into the festive spirit during December and the Christmas holidays with a fun-filled programme of free activities.

Most events are aimed at children (suitable for four to 10-year-olds unless otherwise stated) others are for the whole family to enjoy together.

Events include:

Monday 15 December
Stories around the tree
Hanham Library, 5pm to 6pm
Festive stories around the Christmas tree for children aged five to nine-years-old. Places are limited so booking is essential, contact the library for further details.

 

Tuesday 16 December
Stories around the tree
Kingswood Library, 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Festive stories around the Christmas tree for four to nine-year-olds. Bring your teddy bear and wear your pyjamas.

 

Saturday 20 December
Penguins and polar bears
Downend Library, 10am to 11.30am
Crafts and activities with a snowy theme.

Festive fun
Thornbury Library, 11am to 12pm
Drop in to make Christmas cards and decorations.

Stories round the Christmas tree
Winterbourne Library, 2.30pm to 3.30pm
Festive stories around the Christmas tree, crafts and refreshments. Most suitable for two to eight-year-olds accompanied by a parent or carer.

 

Monday 22 December
Yule have fun
Bradley Stoke Library, 10.30am to 12pm
Seasonal crafts.

Jingle all the way
Cadbury Heath Library, 10.30am to 11.30am
Make your own decorations.

Christmas craft drop-in delights
Filton Library, 10.30am to 12pm
Make your own cards, tree decorations and other Christmas crafts.

Bedtime stories
Cadbury Heath Library, 6pm to 6.45pm
Around the tree Christmas special – join in our festive stories, songs and crafts around the Christmas tree. Festive fun for the whole family, everybody is welcome.

Help yourself crafts

Make your own pomanders, mobiles and shakers.

Help yourself crafts

New Year crafts

Some libraries will also be holding free storytime and rhymetime sessions for babies and toddlers and their parents or carers to enjoy stories, action songs and rhymes together.
