National lockdown: Stay at home. Full restrictions on GOV.UK

Changes to library services during Covid-19

The Government announced a new national lockdown which came into effect Tuesday 5 January.

STAY HOME & STAY SAFE with our free digital services…eBooks, eAudiobooks, eComics, digital magazines and newspapers are available for library members to download anytime.

If you are not already a library member you can join online now on the LibrariesWest website – membership is free.  You will receive an Online Membership number which will work for our digital services right away. Please enter an email address when you register for greater control of your account.

Items on loan

All items currently on loan and not overdue will be extended automatically until 31 March 2021.  Should current restrictions continue beyond this date, we will continue to extend loans to ensure they do not become overdue

If your account had overdue items at 5 January 2021 we recommend that you renew online at www.librarieswest.org.uk or on the LibrariesWest app to avoid accruing charges. Overdue charges are not applied to items borrowed on Under 18s library accounts.  There are 3 ways you can renew your loans from home:

  • Online using the LibrariesWest website. You will need your library card number and PIN to login. If you don’t know your PIN, select ‘Forgot my PIN’ and an email will be sent to the email address we hold for you on our records.
  • Download the free LibrariesWest app from your app store.
  • Call 01454 865022 Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm and Saturday 9:30am – 12pm and speak to a member of staff. Please have your library card number to hand

To take part, children read any books (including eBooks and audiobooks) of their choice (we recommend reading at least three), then rate and review them at www.wintermini.org.uk to unlock a limited- edition virtual badge for their profile AND a special certificate to print out and keep.
