Commenting on the nomination, primary school head teacher Jan Isaac, said: “The whole staff team is amazing and they care deeply about the children in our school. Staff have developed expertise which they are happy to share more widely with other schools locally, nationally and internationally. Everyone will go the extra mile for a child or another adult who needs the support. Everyone values and feels valued. I have worked in a number of schools and I feel this team is unique. Consequently I feel privileged and thankful on a daily basis to be part of this team.”

The school was rated outstanding by OfSTED in May 2011 and inspectors stated “It is an exemplary model of inclusiveness and every pupil’s welfare and learning is a key focus for all the adults in the school.”

Jan continued: “Our aim was to become the best school we could where pupils of all abilities and disabilities could achieve. This still remains our relentless focus.”

Judges visited the school this week and the school is due to find out whether they have won on May 17th ‘Thank a Teacher’ day.
