This year’s Summer Reading Challenge has a ‘Creepy House’ theme and there are a range of spooky crafts, workshops and activities taking place throughout the holiday to help children complete the challenge, including:

Creepy House crafts – create spooky spiders and silhouettes.

Hide & spook – monster masks, batty bats, and creepy crafts to surprise your friends.

Creepy creations workshop – artist and designer Peter Margerum teaches children how to make creepy creations using weird and exciting materials. This activity is only suitable for school aged children and they must be accompanied by an adult.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid – in the theme of author Greg Heffley’s tales of life as a wimpy kid, these workshops for 7 to 11-year-olds offer a chance to describe and draw your own diary to remember all the adventures and excitement from a day in your life. The workshops are presented in association with Explore Learning and are free, however spaces are limited so please contact your library to book.
