South Gloucestershire’s libraries have a range of fun activities planned to help keep children entertained over the school holiday including story times, rhymetimes, crafts and activities, with fun themes ranging from the seaside to outer space.

All activities are free drop-ins for 4 to 11-year-olds unless otherwise stated.

Tuesday 26 May

By the seaside
Summery seaside crafts
Yate Library, 10.30am to 12pm

Wild wild west
Have fun making American West crafts
Patchway Library, 10am to 11.30am

How does your garden grow?
Gardening and nature activities
Staple Hill Library, 10.30am to 12pm

Out of this World
Space themed crafts
Emersons Green Library, 2pm to 4pm

 

Wednesday 27 May

Get the bug
Join us to make butterflies, bugs and bees
Winterbourne Library, 10am to11.30am
Most suitable for 3 to 10-year-olds

Game for a laugh
Games to make and play
Library services stall, Family Fun Day*, Kingswood Park, 2pm to 3.30pm
*In event of bad weather this event will take place at Kingswood Library

Thursday 28 May

Build-a-bug
Craft activities
Hanham Library, 2pm to 3pm

Mini beast mayhem – bugs, beetles, butterflies and more
Drop in for creepy crawly crafts and activities
Downend Library, 10am to 11.30am

 

Friday 29 May

Hugless Dougless and friends
Bear stories and crafts – get a free book whilst stocks last
Filton Library, 10.30am to 12pm (most suitable for 3 to 10-year-olds)

Flock to the library
Sheep themed crafts and the chance to win prizes
Cadbury Heath Library, 2.30pm to 3.30pm

Sheep in the library
Fun with sheep themed activities and the chance to win prizes
Patchway Library, 10am to 11.30am

 

Saturday 30 May

Beside the seaside
Seaside crafts
Bradley Stoke Library, 10am to 11.30am

 

Rhymetimes and Story times
Keep young children entertained with free pre-school story times and rhymetimes throughout the holiday. Visit Childrens Library for details.
