Low cost computer scheme
We have teamed up with an IT provider to offer a range of low cost professionally refurbished computers to eligible residents and registered UK charities in South Gloucestershire. Both desktop and laptop computers are available under the scheme in a range of performance/price combinations.
Low cost laptops
As a minimum all laptops under the scheme include at least a 14″ screen, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, DVD drive, WiFi enabled, Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2010, Windows Defender anti-virus, 6 month warranty and telephone support, free delivery.
Laptop prices start at just £99 for a 1st gen Intel i3 processor and go up to just £149 for a 3rd generation i5 processor. For a small extra cost you can upgrade your laptop to your needs including extra memory or hard disk space.
Low cost desktop computers
As a minimum all desktop computers under the scheme include a 17″ TFT flat screen monitor, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, DVD-RW drive, a new keyboard and mouse, Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2010, Windows Defender anti-virus, 6 month warranty and telephone support, free delivery.
Desktop computer prices start at just £99 for a 1st gen i3 processor and go up to just £149 for a 3rd generation i5 processor. For a small extra cost you can upgrade your computer to your needs including extra memory or hard disk space.
To apply for a low cost computer you must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- Jobseeker’s allowance
- Pension credit
- Disability Living Allowance
- Attendance Allowance / Constant Attendance Allowance
- Carer’s Allowance
- Incapacity Benefit / Employment and Support Allowance
- Disability element of Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit
Registered UK charities are also eligible for this scheme.

How to apply
