Consumer advice in South Gloucestershire is an essential and valued part of trading standards and is provided by our partner, the Citizens Advice consumer helpline. The Citizens Advice consumer helpline is a telephone and online advice service supported by Government and working in partnership with local trading standards services. They provide clear, practical and impartial advice to consumers. You can contact the helpline between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, on 03454 04 05 06.

Alternatively, you can visit the Citizens Advice website, which includes comprehensive advice and guidance on a wide range of consumer matters, as well as template letters which you may find useful.

Please note, South Gloucestershire Council Trading Standards do not provide consumer advice outside of this arrangement.

Complex cases or complaints that involve a possible breach of the criminal legislation we enforce will be referred to us by the telephone helpline for further consideration and any appropriate action.
