Report a problem with a bus stop or bus shelter
Tell us if you spot a problem with a bus stop or bus shelter that is:
- damaged or vandalised
- has an electrical problem (for example a light has stopped working)
Reporting the problem can help us get it fixed sooner.
We are responsible for maintaining and repairing most but not all bus shelters in South Gloucestershire. For bus shelters that are not ours, we will pass on the information you give us to the owner.
How to report it
To report a bus shelter that has graffiti, use our report a graffiti problem form.
To report other problems you can either do it:
- by signing in or registering for a South Gloucestershire Council account
or - as a guest – we will ask for your phone number and email address but you do not have to give them to us
We will ask you to pinpoint the location on a map and to upload a photo of the problem if you can. It will also help if you can give us the stop’s unique 8 digit identification number.
What happens next
This is not always straightforward as we not responsible for all bus shelters in South Gloucestershire, or for any electronic timetable displays. Some shelters are provided by:
- local town and parish councils
- Clear Channel (mainly shelters that have advertising panels)
- supermarkets
- metrobus
For bus stops and bus shelters we are responsible for, we aim to:
- attend as soon as possible and within 24 hours if the problem could be dangerous
- repair the bus stop or bus shelter within 5 working days of it being reported
Fixing some electrical problems may take longer particularly if there is a fault with the electricity supply. This is because underground cable faults can take time to locate and may need to be fixed by the power supplier.
