It is a criminal offence to misuse a Blue Badge. If you misuse a badge or allow others to misuse it, the badge can be withdrawn.

Guidance from the Department for Transport explains the responsibilities of badge holders, including who can use the badge and how to display it.

You can let us know if you think a Blue Badge or a disabled parking space is not being used correctly.

You can let us know if:

  • a Blue Badge is being used by someone who is not entitled to use it
  • an accessible parking space is being used by someone without a Blue Badge

You will need to provide information on the misuse:

For a person misusing a badge this could include:

  • the person’s name or address if you know it
  • where and when they use the badge
  • the make, model and colour of the vehicle they use
  • the registration number of the vehicle
  • the serial number and expiry date of the badge

For a parking space being used without a badge, this could include:

  • where the vehicle is parked
  • the make, model and colour of the vehicle
  • the registration number of the vehicle
  • how often you have seen the vehicle in this place
  • a photograph showing the offence
