Opening hours

Library opening hours vary over bank holidays. Please see: seasonal library opening hours

 Staffed hours – open to all Unstaffed hours – for registered Open Access users only*
 Monday  No staffed hours 8am – 7.30pm
 Tuesday  10am – 5.30pm 8am – 7.30pm
 Wednesday  No staffed hours 8am – 7.30pm
 Thursday  10am – 5.30pm 8am – 7.30pm
 Friday  10am – 5.30pm 8am – 7.30pm
 Saturday  9.30am – 1pm 8am – 7.30pm
 Sunday  No staffed hours 8am – 7.30pm

*Please note when the library changes from staffed to unstaffed opening, it will close for 15 minutes for the transition to Open Access. The library is only available during unstaffed hours for those who have signed up for the free Open Access scheme and completed an induction. Facilities

We have a full list of facilities at the library. Emersons Green Library also provides a laminating service, has a meeting room for hire and offers free wifi access.

Special events

  • Storytime for pre-school children: check dates/times
  • Rhymetime for pre-school children: check dates/times
  • Lego Club for primary school age children, who must be accompanied by a grown-up: check dates/times
  • Chatterbooks reading group for 8-11 year olds: check dates/times
  • Stitch and Knit sessions: every Tuesday 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Share ideas and learn from one another. Bring something you’re working on or learn something new. Beginners welcome.
  • Computer support volunteers are available to help with any computer queries you may have. Please ask for details
  • Crime Book Club: first Tuesday of month, 6.30pm to 7.30pm
  • Memory Café: every second Thursday of the month, from 2pm to 4pm. For anyone affected by dementia, or worried about their or someone else’s memory
  • Tea, Talk and Stories Shared Reading group – a place to relax, make new friends and share stories with others every week. You can just drop in, sit down and enjoy listening to a great story or poem. There’s no pressure to talk or read. Tuesdays 1.30pm to 3pm (term time only)
