Reading Well – mental health

There can be times in our life when we may need a bit of support and advice to get us through difficulties. Or we might just be in need of a bit of optimism and some uplifting messages.

Our libraries offer the national Reading Well collection of books on mental health topics such as stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement and grief. Reading Well titles are expert-endorsed and the latest booklist was launched on 5 June 2018.

Titles in the Reading Well scheme are available to all library members. An extended loan period of six weeks applies to all items and reservations are free of charge. If you’re not already a library member it’s free and easy to join.

If you need any support in dealing with mental health issues contact the South Gloucestershire Talking Therapies psychology service.

Alternatively, contact the Samaritans free 24/7 helpline 116 123.  More information on their website
