Coronavirus (Covid-19): service updates, support and health advice.

The council website and most online services will be down for periods between 8am and 5pm on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October 2021. This is due to essential maintenance.

Catalogue and making reservations

The online catalogue allows you to select from two million items as well as managing your library account.

You can search for an item to borrow in the online library catalogue.

If you find the item you require you can reserve online by entering your library membership number and PIN. If you don’t know your PIN, select “Forgot my PIN” from the login option on the library catalogue and an automated email with reset instructions will be sent to the email address we hold for you on our records.

You can have up to 20 reserved items on your account at a time.

There is a small charge for this service (free for under 18s). When the item is available for you to collect from the library you have selected, you can be informed by email, text or post.

If you are looking for an item which is academic or more specialist and you are aged 16 or over, you can use your card at UWE campus libraries.

You can also download the free LibrariesWest app to browse the catalogue and reserve items, check your account, view and renew your loans on the go. Free on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
