Access to other libraries in our area
Please note: UWE are not currently allowing members of the public into their libraries.
To encourage everyone to make better use of local libraries South Gloucestershire Library Service and The University of the West of England (UWE) have joined together to make it easier for the public and students to access local libraries.
Members of public libraries aged 16 and over can now use their Library Active card at four of UWE’s campus libraries during staffed hours (Bower Ashton, Frenchay, Glenside and Alexandra Warehouse Gloucester Docks); they will be able to borrow five items and have access to specialist print journals and support from university library staff.
In return all UWE students and staff can now use their UWE library card at public libraries to borrow up to 20 items including books, DVDs, eBooks and e-magazines.
For more information on project visit the UWE website.
Looking for extra study space? UWE cardholders can sign up to use selected South Gloucestershire libraries when they are unstaffed, 7 days a week
Find out more about using selected public libraries in South Gloucestershire when they are unstaffed (we call it Open Access) and book your one-off induction online. Don’t forget to bring your UWE card with you to your induction. Once you have completed your induction you will be given a 4 digit PIN number to use with your UWE card on the door entry panel when libraries are unstaffed. Please note that your public library PIN is auto-generated by our system and it will be different to the one you use at UWE. You can change your public library PIN to any 4 digits you choose either in branch or online on the LibrariesWest public library network website. Is there anything wrong with this page?
