Library activities for young adults

Volunteering

Each year we recruit enthusiastic, friendly volunteers to work as part of the team running the Summer Reading Challenge for primary school aged children. Volunteers spend their time helping children to complete the Challenge, talking with them about the books they’re been reading and helping at a range of fun activities in the library.

This is a great opportunity to develop skills in communication, team working and creative projects, whilst having fun and making new friends or working towards a volunteering award. Find out more about volunteering here.

Book Groups

Talk about the books you love and meet new friends at one of our book groups.  They’re FREE to join.

Concorde Book Award

The Concorde Book Award is for everyone in years 7 to 9 at secondary school. What is special about the award is that young people are very involved all the way through; from choosing the longlist and the winner to giving presentations at the award ceremony. Find out how you can get involved here.
