New affordable homes
Affordable housing is for people who cannot afford to privately rent or buy on the open market.
Although the council does not own its own housing stock, it provides new affordable homes in the following ways:
- 35% of housing on new private developments
- affordable housing schemes
- rural exception sites in villages
Through our housing partnerships we provide the following types of housing:
- homes for social rent
- homes for affordable rent
- low cost homes to buy
