Buying your home from a housing association landlord.
- If you are a tenant of a housing association, there are two ways you may be able to buy your home
- If you are a tenant of Merlin Housing Society, you may be entitled to the Preserved Right to Buy (PRTB)
You can apply for the preserved right to buy if you were a tenant of South Gloucestershire Council with a secure tenancy on 12 February 2007, have signed a new tenancy agreement with Merlin, and meet the other qualifying conditions. The discount available is up to £75,000, subject to eligibility.

If you are a tenant of a housing association, you may be able to buy your home under the Right to Acquire (RTA) if it was built or bought by a housing association with public funds from 1 April 1997 onwards. The discount available is up to £11,000, subject to eligibility.
