Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a secure, online resource centre available to private, voluntary and independent early years settings, including childminders and schools, in South Gloucestershire. It is currently not available outside of South Gloucestershire.
When you log into the VLE you will discover a huge range of free resources available to browse and download, all of which are child safe.
In the resource centre we have already uploaded documents that you will find useful, including the new statutory framework for the EYFS effective from September 2014, the Two Year Old Progress Check paperwork, transition documents and much more. We will continue to add to this when new documents become available, so if there is something you would like to see included please let us know.
Also available is a library of e-learning courses. Subjects include bilingualism, creating patterns in play, infection control and sand and water play. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to request access to any of these courses.
Is it difficult to learn how to use it?
The site is very user friendly so feel free to browse by pushing the various buttons on your Home page. You can’t do any damage. If you would prefer more guidance click on the courses button and you will find a tutorial that we have put together called “Making the Most of the VLE”.
For anyone who is nervous about using the VLE and wants to see it in action, we do occasionally provide hands-on, face to face training where delegates can log on and explore the site under our guidance.
How can I access the VLE?
Simply e-mail email@example.com and we will send you an acceptable use agreement form that must be signed by the manager of your setting. Once this is received we will email you a link to the site, together with your unique username and password, to enable you to access this resource. Is there anything wrong with this page?
