Coronavirus (Covid-19): service updates, support and health advice.

Countryside - conservation

We encourage everyone living and working here to enjoy the natural environment. Several areas of open spaces have been declared local nature reserves. These are special places, often close to people’s homes, rich in wildlife and providing the perfect space to relax, enjoy and get closer to nature.

We work closely with a wide range of professionals and community groups providing expert advice, support and practical management of the countryside and nature conservation sites – delivering environmental benefits to the whole community. A wide range of projects to enhance and protect our biodiversity are organised and supported, to protect our special wildlife and natural heritage.  Environmental grants are available to local groups and landowners to support projects that enhance and protect our local environment.

If you want to get involved, share information or discuss environmental and countryside issues then why not join an environmental link group – everyone is welcome to attend.
