Local policies
Each policy listed below clearly states who the information is for at the beginning of the document. Academies and free schools have greater freedoms than maintained schools in relation to school policies and other documents. Where relevant, arrangements applying to these schools are noted in the policy document.

- Elective Home Education Policy
- Personal Budgets Policy
Statutory policies for schools – guidance
The Department for Education has departmental advice on the policies and documents that governing bodies and proprietors of schools are required to have by law.
The following guidance document is non-statutory advice from the Department of Education. It has been produced to help recipients understand their statutory obligations and duties. It outlines the policies and other documents school governing bodies and proprietors of independent schools are legally required to hold.
