A carer is someone who provides unpaid help and support to

  • a family member
  • a partner
  • a friend
  • a neighbour

who has a disability or other difficulty.

Carers allowance

As a carer you may be able to get help and support.


The Carers Support Centre can help you with

  • information
  • advice
  • places where you can get support and help

You may be asked to fill in a form about what you do as a carer called “Getting help and connected as a carer

This is so the centre can give you the right help and advice.
