Our One Stop Shop offices have all reopened. In order to ensure the safety of our staff and customers, face coverings must be worn when entering our buildings (unless you are exempt). The number of people will be restricted at each site and available seating has been reduced.
You can visit any One Stop Shop to be seen by a member of our staff. Alternatively you can contact us to book an appointment in advance.
Follow the guidance on safe distancing when waiting to be seen and during your appointment.
We are based in a number of buildings around South Gloucestershire, our One Stop Shops are specifically designed for visits by the public.
- Monday to Wednesday 8.45am to 5.00pm
- Thursday and Friday 8.45am to 4.30pm
Our busiest times are between 11am and 2.30pm, particularly on Mondays. Please be aware that waiting times may increase during these periods.

What our One Stop Shops do
We deal with questions about:
- council tax
- housing benefit and/or council tax reduction
- homelessness and housing waiting lists
- housing services (Merlin tenants should contact their housing officer)
- streetcare, refuse and recycling collections
- community care
- road repairs and much more
Our highly trained staff have the authority to deal with your question, arrange services and resolve problems on your behalf. In some cases it will not be possible to answer your question at once. If this is the case we will record the necessary information and send it to the relevant department. We will also photocopy your original documents.
Whilst our staff are here to answer a wide range of enquiries we also provide a range of leaflets.
One Stop Shop facilities
Our One Stop Shops have been adapted to ensure that any customers with physical or sensory impairment can access our services. Translation services are available for customers whose first language isn’t English.
Each One Stop Shop has private interview room facilities should you wish to speak to an officer about a confidential matter.
What you can expect from us
In addition to the standards set out in our Customer Care Charter we will make sure that:
- all One Stop Shop staff receive detailed training from all departments
- all One Stop Shop staff will be pleasant, courteous, wear a uniform and a name badge
- there is a pleasant, clean and safe environment
We aim to resolve your enquiry at first point of contact, providing high quality service to everyone who visits the One Stop Shop.
Kingswood Civic Centre – Police enquiry desk
The Kingswood neighbourhood team has moved to share Kingswood Civic Centre with South Gloucestershire Council.
Officers operate from the police post around the clock, with the enquiry office open to the public 8.45am to 5pm Monday to Wednesday, and 8.45am to 4.30pm on Thursday and Friday.
