Young voters guide
Age 16 – 18? Don’t lose your right to have your say. Get registered to vote now!
Research indicates that fewer than half of eligible 18-24 year-olds voted in the last general election. It shows young people are the least likely of any age group to be on the electoral register. According to the Electoral Commission 2010 just 43% of those aged 17-19 were on the register compared with over 80% aged over 35.
Getting involved in the democratic process can help you to feel more involved in your local community, which is not only beneficial for you but for society as a whole.
We are encouraging 16-18 year olds in South Gloucestershire to be registered. Once registered you will be able to vote when you become 18. Registering is quick and easy. It will take you less than 5 minutes. You will need your national insurance number to hand when you register. Is there anything wrong with this page?
