By-elections

By-elections take place when vacancies occur on local councils and town and parish councils part of the way through a term of office. This could be because a councillor resigns, becomes disqualified or passes away. Information about by-elections taking place in South Gloucestershire can be found on this page.

Siston Parish Council, Common Ward by-election – 21 October 2021

The Notice of Election for the Siston Parish Council, Common ward by election has been published and can be found in the download section.  If contested, the by election will take place on Thursday 21 October 2021.

The deadline for registering to vote at this election is midnight on Tuesday 5 October 2021.  The deadline for new applications to vote by post or to make changes to an existing postal or proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday 6 October 2021.  The deadline for new proxy applications is 5pm on Wednesday 13 October 2021.

Winterbourne Parish Council, Winterbourne Ward by-election – 23 September 2021

The Winterbourne Parish Council, Winterbourne Ward by-election was held on Thursday 23 September 2021. Brian Claude Frederick Serjent, Conservative Party Candidate, was elected to the parish council. The Declaration of Result has been published.
