By-elections

By-elections take place when vacancies occur on local councils and town and parish councils part of the way through a term of office. This could be because a councillor resigns, becomes disqualified or passes away. Information about by-elections taking place in South Gloucestershire can be found on this page.

Result of Frenchay and Downend Disrict Ward By-Election

An election was held on Thursday 6 May 2021 for one councillor to represent Frenchay and Downend ward.  The votes cast for each candidate are set out below:

Results of Town Council By-Elections

A number of town council by-elections took place on 6 May 2021.  The names of elected candidates are shown below and full declarations of result are available in the download section.

Angela Morey, Independent was elected to represent Bradley Stoke Town Council, North Ward.

Edward Yi He, Conservative Party Candidate was elected to represent Bradley Stoke Town Council, South Ward.

Alan Bird, Labour Party was elected to represent Filton Town Council, Northville Ward.

Dayley Patrick Gerald Lawrence, Labour Party was elected to represent Patchway Town Council, Callicroft Ward.

The by-election in Siston Parish, Warmley Ward was uncontested following the close of nominations.
