Consultation and engagement policies

We have effective policies and procedures in place to support consultation and engagement.

Engaging communities in decision making is one of the four priorities for community engagement set by South Gloucestershire’s Safer Stronger Communities Strategic Partnership Strategy ‘Building Safer Stronger Communities Together’.

Having in place effective policies and procedures around consultation and engagement ensures that we are listening, learning and communicating changes back to you. These include;

  • ensuring that all our consultations are listed on our online consultation system
  • providing advice and guidance around undertaking consultations in our consultation toolkit; and
  • providing guidance on e-petitions

The contact details for each consultation are listed on the webpage for that consultation.

General consultation enquiries can be made to:

Tel: 01454 868154
or posted to:
South Gloucestershire Council
Corporate Research and Consultation Team
Civic Centre High Street
BS15 9TR

The Compact, a framework between the council, voluntary and community groups and other public agencies in South Gloucestershire also sets out principles and guidelines around consultation and engagement.
