2011 Census – Key data profiles for wards in South Gloucestershire (from May 2019)
The 2011 Census remains the most comprehensive source of official statistics at small area level.
Using Census data (published at Census Output Area level) it is possible to produce profiles for larger areas including, for example wards, and parishes.
In May 2019 ward boundaries in South Gloucestershire changed, with a reduction from 35 to 28 areas.
We have created key statistical profiles for 2019 wards for 2011 Census data. Click on the areas below to view the statistical profile of each ‘new’ ward.
Information about how these profiles were created is available here.
It is important to note that ward boundary changes, which came into place on 2 May 2019, have been significant. Only two wards – Charfield and Filton – remain unchanged. It is important to note that, although they relate to different geographical areas, many ‘new’ (post-May 2019) wards have the same name as ‘old’ (pre-May 2019) wards, which has the potential to cause confusion if comparing data and statistics at ward level over time.
