Coronavirus: latest information on our response, updates on our services and what support is available

Trading standards - education

We take part in initiatives to educate both consumers and businesses on their rights and obligations, as well as advising on the latest scams or rogue trader activity.​

Our initiatives include:

  • Attending events throughout the year where we talk about the issues consumers or businesses can face.


  • Completing projects with the aim of educating about rogue trading and other associated crime, for example, No Cold Calling Zones and The Network (a scams awareness bulletin).


  • Producing a newsletter for businesses in South Gloucestershire detailing the services we provide, the legislation we enforce and any other issue that may impact on someone’s business.


  • Attending talks and presentations on the request from business or community groups. If you would like us to speak at your next meeting/event, please put your request in writing. Please note, whilst every effort will be made, due to operational circumstances we may not be able to attend.​
