CSE Training (Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Drivers)

Due to coronavirus (Covid-19) we are cancelling future Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) awareness training sessions until further notice. As soon as we are able to rearrange, the dates will be published on this page. If you are an existing driver contact us by email:

If you are a current licensed driver with this authority or have passed the Knowledge Test/Private Hire Basic Skills Test, you are required to attend the Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) awareness training. Please note this is mandatory training and you will be unable to continue with your application (renewal or new) if this training has not been completed. If you have already attended the CSE training, you will not need to attend again.

Training Sessions last approximately two hours

The following information is extremely important for you – please take the time to read and fully understand it as it places a responsibility on you to take further action.

South Gloucestershire Licensing have been delivering Safeguarding Training to licensed drivers and those wishing to become licensed. This training is to provide you with knowledge and understanding of how to recognise and initially deal with issues around Child Sexual Exploitation. This training is now mandatory (must be undertaken) for all Applicants and is now forms part of the application process: Your Licence Application will not be accepted until you have attended the training.

You will be required to bring one form of photographic identification with you. Acceptable forms of identification are either a valid Passport or valid EU photographic Driving Licence. New applicants, it is important that you bring your valid EU photographic Driving Licence with you as you will be required to complete paperwork to further your application.  Failure to bring your licence may delay your application.

New applicants will need to bring proof of knowledge test pass and current drivers will need to bring their current badge. Failure to supply this documentation will result in you not being able to attend the training on that day.

Please remember that a licensed driver is a position of responsibility and you must therefore act in a respectful and responsible manner, it is therefore expected that you act in this manner throughout the training.

This is not a drop in session and bookings must be made online. An E-Ticket confirmation is required on arrival;

Please note: future training sessions have been cancelled. As soon as we are able to rearrange, the dates will be published here.
