Statement of Community Involvement

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) explains how everyone can be involved in the preparation of new planning policy documents and in consultation on planning applications.

We adopted our first SCI in May 2008. Since then a number of changes have been made to both the legislative framework within which the SCI operates and internal procedures within the council. These changes have made it necessary for us to update our SCI every 5 years.

The current SCI was published on 11 March 2021.

We have published a neighbourhood planning protocol that should now be read together with the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).
