Residents encouraged to attend next round of Area Forum meetings

The next round of Area Forum meetings take place in November and residents are encouraged to come along to have a say on local decision-making.

All meetings include an open session for members of the public to put questions to councillors and officers on any matter in their area, so why not come along and join in the debate on the following dates and locations:

The Chase – Monday 16 November, 7pm, Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Kingswood

Southern Brooks – Tuesday 17 November, 7pm, Wallscourt Farm Academy, Longdown Avenue, Stoke Gifford

Kings Forest – Monday 23 November, 7pm, Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Kingswood

Frome Vale – Thursday 26 November, 7pm, Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church, High Street, Chipping Sodbury

Severn Vale – Wednesday 2 December, 7pm at Turnberries Community Centre, Bath Road, Thornbury.

On the agenda for this round of meetings will be information about the council’s annual budget consultation, a presentation on our draft waste strategy consultation, community grant allocations, highways maintenance priorities 2016/17 and a progress update for the Local Transport Capital Programme 2015/16.

In addition, representatives from Network Rail will be present at the Southern Brooks and Frome Vale meetings to provide an update on electrification works in the area and The Chase meeting will include an update on the Teewell Hill bridge project.
