The European Parliamentary elections take place on Thursday 22 May, and polling stations across the district will be open from 7am to 10pm on the day.

Make sure your vote counts! If you are not on the electoral register you will not be able to vote. If you have recently turned 18-years-old or just moved house you may not be on the register. Research by the UK Electoral Commission has shown that 44 per cent of those not registered to vote think that they are.

The deadline to join the electoral register in time to vote in the European Parliamentary elections is 5pm on Tuesday 6 May for new registrations.

The deadline for new applications to vote by post or to make changes to an existing postal or proxy vote is 5pm on 7 May.

The deadline for new proxy applications is 5pm on Wednesday 14 May.
