Monday 16 February saw the official opening of the refurbished Barrington Green play area, next to the Kingsmeadow Community Flat in Kingswood.

Improvements to the open space include an ‘activity zone’ (outdoor gym), slide, supernova carousel (roundabout), basket swing, carved seating, along with bulbs and trees, a natural goal ‘kickabout’ area, and a new storage container that will provide cycle hire and storage facilities. The storage container has been decorated by local illustrator and graffiti artist Andy Council.

Pictured (back row) from left to right are Communities Committee Chair Cllr Claire Young, Chairman of South Gloucestershire Council Cllr Howard Gawler and Local Sustainable Transport fund (LSTF) Project Manager Verity Heal, along with children and young people from the Kingsmeadow Community Flat.
