Run South Gloucestershire

It has never been easier to take up running.

There is a series of timed 5K runs called parkrun in parks across the UK, every Saturday morning at 9am, all year round. parkruns are suitable for any ability: new beginners and recreational runners join every week. junior parkruns (2K) take place every Sunday at 9am.

Chipping Sodbury and Pomphrey Hill parkruns (5K) and Little Stoke junior parkrun (2K) all started in 2014. Thornbury parkrun and Page Park junior parkrun  began in 2017. Check the events page of parkrun to register and find out more.

Parkruns are hugely popular and are managed entirely by local volunteers. If you would like to help set up a new parkrun in your area, please contact: healthylifestyles@southglos.gov.uk

RunTogether is an official England Athletics recreational running project, which encourages more people to run, and to run more often. There is a recreational running group near you, to help you on your way to running fitness. All groups are supervised by qualified and approachable leaders. You may wish to contact the group leader first for a friendly chat. Enter your postcode and search for a group at RunTogether.

RunTogether routes (formerly 3-2-1) are accurately measured running routes. The first route in South Gloucestershire was created in 2012, followed by routes in Chipping Sodbury, Pomphrey Hill, Lees Hill (Kingswood), King George V (Downend), Wickwar, Three Brooks (Bradley Stoke), Page Park (Staple Hill) and Yate Common – all in 2014 and Brinsham Fields (Yate) and Scott Park (Patchway) in 2015.
