Alzheimers’s Society provides dementia care services to people affected by dementia and their carers in South Gloucestershire.

Experienced dementia support workers can offer information and guidance to help you:

  • understand dementia
  • cope with daily challenges
  • prepare for the future

Day care

We offer day care for residents with dementia at Cambrian Green day services centre in Yate.

Dementia support groups in the community

There is a range of activities and groups to support people with dementia, from day services to reminiscence groups.

Alzheimer’s Society manages the dementia support service in South Gloucestershire. They provide a range of activities and groups to support people, such as:

  • support workers for practical and emotional support
  • support groups for carers
  • Singing for the Brain in Kingswood, Thornbury and Downend
  • a weekly sports and social club in Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre

South Gloucestershire Dementia Action Alliance

South Gloucestershire Dementia Action Alliance (SGDAA) is run by Southern Brooks Community Partnerships to support our communities and organisations to become dementia aware, accessible and inclusive.

The Alliance aims to make South Gloucestershire a region where people with dementia and their carers are are understood and respected and that services support them to make choices and have control over their lives.
