Clinical and medical waste collections
We can provide extra support for residents with clinical and medical waste.
Needles, lancets, syringes or empty insulin cartridges need to be contained within a sharps box, which can be obtained from your health worker or pharmacist. When your sharps box requires collection, please complete our online form and we will then contact you to arrange collection.
Depending on your needs you can either arrange a regular sharps collection, for example every week/fortnight or by contacting us as and when you need it. This service is free of charge.
Clinical waste is classed as being infectious or potentially infectious, and is therefore subject to special treatment for handling, collection, transportation and disposal. This type of waste is collected on a weekly basis and cannot be put in your black bin.
If you need this service, please fill in the application form and ask your healthcare worker to sign it. You can download the form or you can request one to be posted to you using the button below. We will advise you of your collection day once we have processed your request.
If you do not have an infection your medical waste can be included in your black bin. We can provide an extra black bin free of charge to help you manage your waste which would be emptied on your normal black bin collection day. If you need an extra black bin for medical waste you can request a form by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01454 868000.Is there anything wrong with this page?
