Obtaining building control approval after works completed
Where works are carried out without the necessary building regulations, the owners may be prosecuted. However to facilitate people who find themselves in this position or who wish to have such work approved, there is a process called regularization.
A regularisation application is a retrospective application relating to previously unauthorised works i.e. works carried out without building regulations consent, started on or after 11 November 1985.
The purpose of the process is to check the unauthorised works against the regulations and provide a certificate of regularisation. Depending on the circumstances, removal and/or rectification of works may be necessary to establish compliance with the building regulations.Is there anything wrong with this page?
