The contraflow on the Bromley Heath Viaduct will be removed this weekend. To carry out this work safely, we need to undertake a full closure of a section of the A4174 Ring Road in both directions from the Wick Wick roundabout to the Hambrook traffic lights from 8pm on Friday 27 April. Both carriageways will be fully open from 6am on Monday 30 April. Sign diversions will be in place. Further information at www.southglos.gov.uk/bhviaduct

In year school admissions

How to apply for a place at an infant, junior, primary or secondary school in South Gloucestershire during the academic school year.

In-year applications for academic year 2017/18

Application forms for a South Gloucestershire school are obtainable from any South Gloucestershire school.

Secondary school in 2017/18

Applications must be made directly to the school, no matter where you live. Parents/carers are able to make three preferences on the form and it should be returned to the first preference school.

If it is not possible to offer your child a place at your first preference school, a copy of the form will be passed to the school named as a second preference.

Academy, foundation and voluntary aided schools may require completion of a supplementary form.

Proof of your address may be required.

The school will notify parent/carers of the outcome of the application. If a school is unable to offer your child a place they will advise you:

  • of the reason they cannot offer a place
  • of the appeal process
  • of any opportunity to remain on a waiting list for a place, and
  • forward your form to the lower preference school for consideration.
