Advice on choosing a school

We provide impartial advice, support, guidance and information about choosing a primary school.

Remember there is no substitute for visiting any school that you are considering. We suggest that you visit potential schools before making your preferences as there are many things to consider such as travel arrangements.

Receiving your offer – Primary school admissions September 2017

If your child is due to start primary school in September 2017 it is important that you respond to your offer by contacting us no later than 2 May 2017.

From Tuesday 18 April 2017, if you have previously applied online, you can view the outcome of your application for a primary school place by logging on using your previously registered email address and password. You will also receive formal notification of your offer by email (unless otherwise specified at the time of application).

Check school place outcome

If you have applied by paper application form, you will be notified by letter (to be posted 1st class on 18 April 2017).  We regret that we are unable to confirm any details of offers by telephone.

If we don’t get a response to your offer by 2 May 2017, we will contact you to advise that your offer of a place may be withdrawn if we do not receive confirmation from you within one week. Where a place has been withdrawn this will be confirmed in writing.
