Data and Access Profiles (DAPs)

To support production of our new Local Plan 2020 and provide evidence for adopted policies (CS8 and PSP11), we have produced 71 Data and Access Profiles (DAPs). These cover communities in our urban areas and rural settlements.

On this page you will find links to the Data and Access profiles, the methodology, supporting information.

We also set out how you can comment on the information within each DAP.

Consultation November 2020

These are a first draft of the 71 Data and Access Profiles.

The findings within the DAPs published in November 2020, are based on information which was updated during early 2020. It is also noted that the current COVID-19 pandemic has impacted on both the current public transport service provision as well as services and facilities.

We want to share them with you for comment, at the same time as we consult on the Local Plan Phase 1 Issues and Approaches document. We can then update and refine the information within each profile.

So please do let us know if we have listed services or facilities in your area which need updating or we have missed anything.

What is contained in the Data and Access Profiles?

Each Data and Access Profile contains the following factual information:

• Policy constraints map;
• Basic demographic information for settlements;
• Availability of public transport connections to locations containing key services and facilities;
• The range and number of key services and facilities accessible by walking and cycling from each settlement;
• Maps displaying the location of accessible key services and facilities;
• A list of key services and facilities within each settlement.

What is the methodology behind the Data and Access Profiles?

The Data and access profiles are supported by a methodology which outlines our approach to compiling each profile. The methodology outlines how the information has been gathered and analysed. The data collected and used in the Data and Access Profiles as well as the methodology can also be found in the supporting documents below:

How can you comment on the first drafts?

We want to hear your views on the information we have published within each Data and Access Profile. We also want to ensure we have got the methodology approach right.

The consultation was open for comments between 27th November 2020 and 1st March 2021. 

What will happen to your comments?

The information collected as part this consultation will also be used by the council in accordance with the data protection principles in the Data Protection Act 1998. The purpose for collecting this data is: to assist in plan making; and to contact you, if necessary, regarding the planning consultation process. Some of the data may be made public as it will form part of the evidence base used to inform the creation of planning policy documents. The above purposes may require public disclosure of any data received on the response form, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The purpose for holding your personal information is to assist in preparing development plan documents and supporting supplementary planning guidance and advice; and to contact you, if necessary, regarding the planning consultation process relating to their preparation. In order to provide the above service we may share your information with the following:

• Other South Gloucestershire Council departments
• External consultants working on behalf of South Gloucestershire Council
• Other Local Planning Authorities (LPAs)
• Other groups preparing statutory development plans relevant to South Gloucestershire

Older Superseded Versions

We have previously published the Sustainable Access Profiles (SAPs) which were last updated in February 2018. The SAPs were produced to support work on the Local Plan 2018-36 which is no longer being progressed. The Data and Access Profiles will now supersede the SAPs.
