Local Elections 2019

Local elections in South Gloucestershire traditionally take place every four years on the first Thursday in May.  The next elections will take place on Thursday 2 May 2019.  All district ward and parish/town council seats will be up for election.

Poll cards will be issued to all eligible electors towards the end of March.

European Parliamentary Elections 23 May 2019

Planning is underway for European Parliamentary Elections on 23 May 2019.  The Notice of Election for the South West Region has been published and can be viewed in the download section.

Key registration dates

During elections the deadlines for registering to vote or to apply for absent votes change.  Important dates for the 2 May 2019 elections are below:

Deadline for making a new postal voting application or for cancelling or changing an existing postal or proxy vote. 5.00pm on Monday 15 April 2019
Deadline for making a new proxy voting application 5.00pm on Wednesday 24 April 2019
Deadline for making an emergency proxy application 5.00pm on Thursday 2 May 2019
