Fairtrade

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.

Whenever you buy a product bearing the Fairtrade Foundation’s Fairtrade Mark you know that the producers have received a fair, stable price for their produce, with an extra ‘social premium’ to invest in their local communities. There are now more than 3,000 products carrying the Fairtrade mark.

South Gloucestershire Fairtrade Group is proudly supported by the council and we renewed our Fairtrade District status in August 2015.

We have also been working hard to promote Fairtrade products across our catering service and outlets and continue to support schools and businesses to use and promote Fairtrade.

You can find out more about Fairtrade in South Gloucestershire on our website or contact Jamie Cooke, South Gloucestershire Fairtrade Coordinator by emailing jamie.cooke@southglos.gov.uk or calling 01454 863119
