Section 53B Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (“WCA 1981”) register: Register of applications for definitive map modification orders made under section 53(5) of the WCA 1981
The Wildlife and Countryside Act allows for a surveying authority to make an order,
known as a definitive map modification order, to amend the map and statement to
ensure that it is a correct record of the public’s rights.
Any member of the public can apply for a definitive map modification order where they can provide sufficient evidence that: -
- A path has not been shown on the definitive map and should have been
- A path is shown on the definitive map and should not have been
- A path has been shown with wrong status or alignment
- Other details about a path are incorrect or missing
This register provides details of the applications that have been received by this Council since 31st December 2005.
Anyone wishing to comment on a current application can do so up until the end of the advertised objection period.
