Child car seats

Child in car seat
With the introduction of new child restraint legislation in September 2006 it is vital that parents familiarise themselves with the requirements of the new law.
Parents must always accept the responsibility of ensuring that their children are securely belted in when riding in a car and must ensure that a child under 3 years of age is carried in the correct child restraint.
From 3 years of age up to 135cms in height or 12th birthday (whichever is first), children must be carried in the correct child restraint - i.e. a booster seat or booster cushion.
Further details can be found on the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and the Department for Transport's THINK road safety website (see 'Other websites' on the right-hand side of this page).
