New! Wessex Red bus services

Wessex has launched a new network of bus services called ‘Wessex Red’ providing an increased number of services and frequencies in the North Fringe area.

Wessex Red covers a wide network including: Bristol city centre, Bristol Parkway and Temple Meads train stations, University of the West of England, Cribbs Causeway, Aztec West, Abbey Wood and Filton.

The buses will operate with a cashless smartcard system so you will benefit from quicker
boarding and cheaper fares.

South Gloucestershire and Bristol City Councils are supporting the promotion of these services as part of the local sustainable transport fund, part funded by the Department for Transport. The funding is for projects, such as this new network of bus services, to encourage residents along key congested routes to try alternative modes of travel to driving alone in the car.
