Public transport

A bus

Public transport is essential to the wellbeing of South Gloucestershire's residents, businesses and visitors. However, as more people are relying on private cars, fewer people are using public transport which leads in turn to a lower level of public transport provision. We are trying to encourage people to use public transport whenever possible.

The backbone of South Gloucestershire's public transport system is the bus. Most places in South Gloucestershire can be reached by bus. People aged over 60 - and many disabled people - can get a bus pass that lets them travel for free.

If you have trouble accessing conventional forms of public transport, you can try a community transport scheme. Many taxis are accessible for disabled people too.
