The objectives of the AA Foundation are:

BikeSafe is an initiative run by police forces around the United Kingdom who work with the whole of the biking world to help to lower the number of motorcycle rider casualties. By passing on their knowledge, skills and experience, police motorcyclists can help you become a safer, more competent rider.

They help you to increase your ability and confidence, so you can get even more enjoyment from riding your motorcycle.

The BMF claims that with a 140,000-strong membership, it has gained the experience, the knowledge and the influence that today's riders need. They lobby MPs, MEPS, ministers, commissioners and committees to ensure that motorcyclists' views and concerns are heard and understood by local authorities, national government and the European Union. They also provide a 'one-stop shop' for the media and provide positive publicity for motorcycling. Through its regional structure, the BMF actively promotes the enjoyment, fun and fellowship of motorcyclists and each region has its own calendar of events.

The Highway Code is essential reading for everyone. Its rules apply to all road users: pedestrians, horseriders and cyclists, as well as motorcyclists and drivers.

Many of the rules in the code are legal requirements and if you disobey these rules you are committing a criminal offence. You may be fined, given penalty points on your licence or be disqualified from driving.

Motorcycle Action Group

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) was formed in 1973 to campaign for voluntary crash helmet use. Since that time MAG has broadened the scope of its activities, making MAG one of the leading bodies campaigning on behalf of motorcyclists in the UK.

MAG is very much a grass-roots organisation, with a large number of full and affiliated members, local groups, and local activity.
