Fees and charges
The Council reviews its fees and charges each year and in more detail every 3-5 years. Also the current processes were being abused by many installers who were not following Council guidance, particularly with health and safety regulations. The decisions were taken to manage the process in a more robust manner to ensure that work was installed in line with specifications. Health and Safety, was given due regard with reconsideration in relation to obtaining plant information from the street Utilities such as gas and electric companies. The full cost of this work will be recovered through the fee, so that Council Tax payers do not have to subsidise private works. If work is carried out by the councils in house team a discount of £50 will be given on your quotation.
£50 for Council to inspect and assess at the site. (Non refundable)
£100 for Council to provide you with a specification, and log the consent (works must be carried out within 12 months; otherwise you will have to pay for a revised visit). This is to make sure your proposed works do not conflict with any that the council is planning.
If an unauthorised dropped kerb is installed it will need to be reinstated to its original layout this cost must be met by the applicant and costs can be in the region of £700.00. This pays for kerb to be returned to its original layout.
