Bristol Mountain Bike Club

This club concentrates on general trail riding but does also cater for all riders and all disciplines from beginners to expert, from XC to downhill, freeride, enduro and even single speeders. The club has an active social life with many away rides to the major bike venues around the country.

The Bristol Cycling Campaign is a small organisation which aims to promote cycling in Bristol.
They organise social events, publish a quarterly newsletter and campaign for better cycling facilities locally.

The British Cycling Federation is the UK's governing body for cycle sports including BMX, Cycle Speedway, Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Biking as well as Road and Track. As the governing body of cycling, their responsibilities include running the lottery-funded GB cycling teams in road, track, mountain bike cross-country and paralympic cycling. They also co-ordinate the racing calendar in most of the major sporting disciplines. The British Cycling Federation has several youth development initiatives and a range of training courses for officials and participants in the sport of cycling.

CTC offers a comprehensive and specialised service for the leisure and commuting cyclist. CTC is a one-stop shop for everything cycling: technical advice, information, specialist mail order, a magazine, cycling-related legal advice and support, insurance, organised tours, thousands of cycling events annually and the opportunity to be part of the UK's largest cycling organisation with more than 70,000 members and supporters throughout the world.

Cyclists' Touring Club (CTC) - Bristol section
"The Bristol section of the Cyclists Touring Club offer a range of cycling related activites that everyone can join in. We organise rides every weekend, easy (suited to the beginner), medium and hard and have extensive knoweldge of the best routes, pubs and cafes in our area. In addition, we organise cycling tours, slide shows and talks on Wednesday evenings during the winter. Our years of experience mean that we can offer help and advice on all cycling matters.

Life Cycle UK (formerly Cycle West) is a not-for-profit organisation which promotes and encourages cycling. Its work is sponsored by South Gloucestershire Council and Bristol City Council and other benefactors. They can offer help to residents of South Gloucestershire with guidance on suitable routes for cycling, cycle training for both adults and children and bicycle maintenance.

Cycling England is a new national body which co-ordinates the development of cycling across England. It aims to create the conditions which will result in more people cycling, more safely and more often. Cycling England was launched by the Minister for Local Transport in March 2005 and replaces the previous National Cycling Strategy Board. It is supported by a group representing a number of government departments, including health, education, planning and sport as well as transport.
